McKinley Library Online Catalog The McKinley library catalog is available online via Destiny Quest This resource provides parents and students with the opportunity to browse McKinley's book selections.  Please note that the "Login" and "Create Account" functions are not available for parents or students at this time.
Check Out Policy TK-2nd Grade Students may check out books for 1 week at a time.  3rd-5th Grade students may check out books for 2 weeks at a time.  Students should return their books during their library time (see schedule below).

Award Winning Books
  • The Randolph Caldecott Medal is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.
  • The John Newbery Medal is awarded annually by the American Library Association for the most distinguished American children's book published the previous year.
  • The Coretta Scott King Awards are given annually to outstanding African American authors and illustrators of books for children and young adults that demonstrate an appreciation of African American culture and universal human values.
  • The Theodore Seuss Geisel Award is given annually to the author(s) and illustrator(s) of the most distinguished American book for beginning readers published in English in the United States during the preceding year.
  • The Pura Belpré Award is presented annually to a Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth.
